Breena is a born and raised Brandonite. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007, and again in 2010 receiving her Bachelor of Laws degree. Breena was then called to the Manitoba Bar in June of 2011.

Starting her career with Patersons LLP in 2010 as an articling student, Breena went on to complete her articles and become an associate with the firm in 2011 following her Call to the Bar. Continuing her practice Breena became a Partner with the firm on January 1, 2019.

Breena has a diverse practice with a primary focus in Family Law helping her clients resolve their disputes in the manner that best suit their situation, whether it is through litigation or negotiation. Her practice also includes Child Protection, Real Estate, Municipal Law, Civil Litigation and Estate Planning. Breena has argued cases for clients at all levels of Manitoba Courts.

Volunteering in her community, Breena sat on the Board of the Women’s Resource Centre in 2011 until 2015. She became chair of the Fundraising Committee in 2012 helping to create a new annual fundraiser for the Centre, the Westman Corporate Challenge.

The fundraiser went on to raise over $12,000.00 for the Centre in its inaugural year. Continuing with the Women’s Resource Centre, Breena became Treasurer of the Centre from 2013 until 2015.

In September of 2018, Breena joined the Board of the Brandon Youth Soccer Association going on to become president later that year in November. Continuing with BYSA, Breena organizes youth soccer programming, specifically the U3 to U8 groups in Spring, as well as general communication with all the registrants and public.

When she’s not at work you can find Breena keeping her hands full with her three sons, Xander, Logan and Connor. Whether it’s at the hockey rink, a soccer field or in their own backyard with their dog, Lotus, Breena and her family are always on the move living their lives with as much enjoyment and laughter as possible.


Q: What is your guilty pleasure movie?

A: My guilty pleasure movie is Pitch Perfect

Q: If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?

A: The Canada goose. They’re pretty rude and aggressive as it is.


Q: What is one skill you have that you are proud of?

A: I’m pretty good at decorating cupcakes and cakes. I have done different themes for all the boys’ birthdays.
