Jodi L. Wyman, B.A. LL. B

Jodi Wyman has been practicing family law since she received her Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Manitoba in 1997. She began working in Brandon in 1998 with Paterson Ross, and then became a partner of the firm Paterson Patterson Wyman & Abel in 2006. Jodi has argued cases for her clients in all levels of court, including the Manitoba Court of Appeal, Court of Queen’s Bench, Provincial Court and administrative tribunals. A large part of her practice also includes child protection work for child welfare Agencies

A strong believer in helping families work out their own separation and parenting issues, Jodi has been pursuing training in alternative dispute resolution to better assist her family law clients. She completed the necessary training to allow her to be one of the first lawyers in Brandon to offer Collaborative Family Law, and was appointed to the Board of Collaborative Practice Manitoba in September 2011. In 2012 Jodi began mediation training with Mediation Services, and now assists couples to work out their own agreement s outside of a courtroom. Jodi also gained adjudication and arbitration experience when she was appointed Chair of the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal in 2000 and 2003.

Jodi’s volunteer involvement in the Brandon community includes being Past President of the YWCA and in 2003 she received the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for her work with that organization. In 2005 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. She is the Past President and current Treasurer of the Western Manitoba Bar Association. Jodi joined the Women's Resource Centre Board in 2010 and became Board Chair in 2012.

During breaks from work, Jodi enjoys traveling back to her hometown of Thunder Bay, and visiting family in B.C., Nova Scotia and Ottawa. Her Facebook page is mostly filled with pictures of her husband Don and their dogs.
