Katherine E. Jones, B.A. J.D.
Kate is a lawyer with a practice focused on various areas of property law including real estate, wills and succession planning, estate administration and corporate/commercial transactions. Kate also has a sub-practice in civil litigation focused on property law issues including estate litigation and real property disputes. Kate has appeared in multiple levels of Court in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Kate’s two areas of practice allow her to assist her clients in a holistic manner. Kate believes that remaining current and active in civil litigation allows her to help her real estate, estate planning and corporate clients by giving her the knowledge and experience to anticipate possible problems that may result in litigation down the road and reduce or remove them ahead of time.
Kate received her Juris Doctor (Law Degree) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2010. She decided to return to her home province, British Columbia, to complete her articles and was called to the bar and became a practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia in May 2012. In November 2012, Kate began working in Brandon and was called to the bar and became a practising member of the Law Society of Manitoba. Kate joined Paterson Patterson Wyman & Abel as an associate in February 2014.
Kate believes in being an active member of her community and volunteers regularly with The Women's Resource Centre. Kate is the current Treasurer and past President of the Western Manitoba Bar Association, a member of the Canadian Bar Association, a non-practising member of the Law Society of British Columbia and a practising member of the Law Society of Manitoba. Kate also plays softball in Boissevain as a member of that Ladies Softball League.
Kate resides in Killarney with her partner Dawson. During breaks from work, Kate enjoys traveling back to British Columbia to visit her family.
